2 More Christmas Cards!!

Sorry for being a day late but here are the next two cards...both are more traditional like I promised...

This card uses our Gold Glass Glitter from the Holiday Mini catalogue, and boy does it sparkle!! It also has a small vintage brad around the centre of the bow which finishes off the total vintage look to the card.

This card has the globes and the greeting embossed with gold. This is where we put the powder on the stamped images and heat it with the heat gun. This melts the powder and leaves a shiny, raised image. It is beautiful in person!

Lewis and I had a great day yesterday! We went for a walk around downtown, stopped at Kingsmills, and stopped for lunch. All that freash air felt so terrific. I plan to do more walking now that the weather has cooled down!!

I am also helping my dear friend, Alicia Ryckman, by prepping cards for her fundraiser on Nov. 7th. She holds this fundraiser each year in honour of a young woman who lost her battle with cancer at age 25. Everyone will be making 11 Chrismas cards, 2 each of 5 designs and one special card with penguins, as penguins were this young woman's favourite animal! If you would like to attend, please let me know and I will let Alicia know. (Cost is $30 with all the money going to Child Cancer...there are tons of prizes including Ipod, Wii, etc., etc....Alicia is the DIrector of the ToysRUs in London so always has the most amazing prizes!!) I will also be there on the 7th for the afternoon to help out! It will be a blast!! (The event is being held at the Hillside Church on Commissioners Rd...between Wellington and Wharncliffe...from 2 - 5 pm on the 7th.)

If you would like to come to one of my classes on Nov. 10 or 11th, please let me know as soon as possible. If you would like to attend Alicia's fundraiser, please contact me as soon as you can.

I will be back on Monday with 2 or 3 more Christmas cards for classes.

Enjoy your weekend...have fun with the cute little Trick or Treaters!

2 Christmas Cards!!!

I finally have made some decisions about the beautiful Christmas cards I want to offer at my November 10 and 11 classes!

I decided that I would prepare 6 or 7 different cards and YOU can pick which ones you want to make!! There will be a minimum of 10 cards, or $20 but then if you want any more they will be $2 each. I will still be packaging the cards with 2 of the same in each envelope but you will be able to choose which designs you like the most!

Here are the first two cards that will be available at classes...

Aren't these cards cute? Tomorrow I will have two more cards, but they will be more traditional designs.

Please let me know if you want to sign up for a class. Space is available in all classes - Wed. Nov. 10th at 6:30 pm and Thurs. Nov. 11 at 1:00 pm OR 6:30 pm.

Come back tomorrow for two more cards!!

More Cards....Still Not Christmas Ones!!

Hey...how is your week going? Mine is great and full of my favourite things cutting paper and stamping!!

I have a couple more cards for you today. These are direct copies from one of my most favourite designers, Mary Fish. Mary lives in Tucson, Arizona and although we have never met, I have emailed to let her know how much I love (and copy!!) all the designs she posts on her blog. Mary took the time to reply to my email...what an honour!!...and is very sweet. Believe it or not, she loves that I copy her creations!!! Wonderful for me!! Click here to view Mary's blog (and enjoy!)

On to the cards...

Aren't these gorgeous cards?!! Mary is one talented lady and I love her taste. It suits my taste very well.

Anyway, back to those Christmas cards...how to choose?!! I will though and will be back tomorrow with a couple of the cards. Thanks for being so patient with me!

Cards ... But Not Christmas Yet!!

Hey there, it's another mild October day. We have to enjoy these days while they last!!

I am having so much trouble deciding which Christmas cards to make for my November 10th and 11th classes!! I have so many beautiful stamp sets and designer papers...what a dilemma to have!! I will definitely choose before the end of the week!!

In the meantime, I continue to make cards for the Octopus's Garden in the Talbot Centre. Here are a few of my recent cards.

The first two are cards from a while back, just reinvented with new colours and ribbons. The Rich Razzleberry card front uses a Stampin" Up stencil with Rich Razzleberry Ink and a Sponge Dauber. I love the shades of colour this shows. The second card is a Certainly Celery base with Marina Mist ribbon and layer (have I said how much I love Marine Mist!!). It goes with almost every other colour!!

I have one more card to show you. This card was made by my granddaughter, Maddie, this past weekend. She loves penguins and I found a really cute penquin card on Connie Babbert's blog Click here for Connie's Blog and Maddie put her own spin on it.

The penquins are punched from the Owl Punch....way too cute!!!

Stop back tomorrow, if you can, for a couple more cards,

Christmas Cards To Come Next Week!!

Hey there:

I took a bit of a break this week and spent my time doing more organizing in my craft room. Some things were just in containers from our May move but hadn't been sorted yet. I found a lot of cool stuff that I forgot I even had! Now I know exactly what colours of ribbon, buttons, and brads I have on hand...a really great thing!!

Everything is also nicely organized so I can get to it quickly. This really helps when I am in a creative process. It can be very frustrating to know you have something but not to be able to put your hands on it!!

Lewis and I also had a fun afternoon today and went to the Craft Show at the Western Fair. There are so many talented people out there who make all kinds of great things. I got the neatest scarf...it is kind of like the old ascot style for men but it velcros behind my neck. It looks very classy on the outside and underneath it is fleece. So cozy and warm!!

Because of this, I don't have the Christmas cards ready to post for the classes on November 10th and 11th! I will work on them this weekend and will hopefully get them ready or posting early next week. In the meantime, I wanted to show you this beautiful card made using a Stampin' Up stenciled design on the front. I made this is Peach Parfait (one of my favourite colours!!) but I think it would look wonderful in any one of our colours.

The second card is one that Karin and I made for fundraising for Crohn's and Colitis. It uses the flowers from the Level 1 Hostess set, Silouette Sentiments. The colours used are Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, and Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by, and I will be back by Tuesday with card samples!

Classes are on Wednesday, Oct. 20th at 6:30 pm, and Thursday, October 21st at 1:00 pm or 6:30 pm.

Please let me know by Monday evening (the 18th) if you want to come to one of the classes!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Another very busy week for me, and I am sure for you, too!!

I want to let you all know that my handmade greeting cards are now being sold in the Talbot Centre at Octopus's Garden (a beautiful florist shop)! I am so excited about this new expansion of my hobby business and look forward to others enjoying my creations.

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend! What a treat for all of us!

I hope you all have some time to be outside and enjoy the fall colours this weekend. We will be out driving this weekend and I know that the most fun part will be seeing the trees in all their gorgeous colours.

Have a safe weekend with your family and friends!
So long for now,
Chrissie

Wow, it's Friday Already, and October!!

Hey there!

Hard to believe that the weeks fly by like they do. I have been making lots of cards this week...I was so inspired by Regionals last weekend. Yesterday afternoon I had a much needed massage and after that I was too pooped to do anything. I think I should stop going at 1:00 pm...I get nothing else done after that!

Lewis and I are so excited as our grandkids are coming tomorrow afternoon and overnight! We haven't seen each other since school started and I really miss them!!

Then Sunday is our BIG Stamp a Stack at the Moose Lodge! We sold out as we do every year for the Christmas cards. It is always so much fun with about 80 women who love to stamp all in the same room! Kind of like at Regionals, but there we had hundreds of women!! It should be a great day, but I know I will be tired at the end of it. That's what Mondays are for...for me, resting!!

As I haven't taken any photos this week, I am going to share with you one of my favourite swap cards from Regionals. It was in a plastic sleeve so bear with the reflection from the camera's flash. I can hardly wait to make this card...it combines fabric and paper. (Unfortunately, I didn't get one of these in a trade and only had the chance to take a photo of it...so I don't know who made it but I love it!!)

Have a great weekend, no matter what the weather turns out to be!
So long for now,
Chrissie

(The 3D ring in the middle of the wreath is wrapped in fabric. Everthing else is paper...stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, and embossed with the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Love, love, love it!!)
