Christmas Ornament

I am happy to say that as of today all of our renovations are finished, and everything is just as I envisioned it would be! I will post before and after photos once I take some good ones of the after!

Today I have an ornament to show you. I made 6 of these for my family that I handed out yesterday at  our family gathering for brunch in Cambridge. The Cambridge Mill restaurant and event venue is a wonderful place for brunch and a central location for my sisters and our families. We were also very fortunate that it was a mild day and great for everyone to be able to attend!

This ornament is on a base of a papier mache star from a craft store. I had fun making them and loved how they turned out!

I have other projects to share as soon as I take the photos!

Have a great week!

Chris

I'm still Here!

Just wanted to let you know I am still around.

Not sure where I left off last but the past Friday we moved downstairs to sleep in the family room on the sofa bed. It is very comfortable to sleep on just not great for me to sit on during the day to craft.

We have had a very busy week around here! Monday we had 4 tradespeople here at once plus our contractors. It was organized chaos! Anyway our bedroom and ensuite are now painted and look beautiful. Adding crown moulding to the ceilings of both rooms has made it more stylish and cozier as we have 9' ceilings!

Tuesday the painter was here all day doing touch ups on walls and baseboards. Yesterday was a great day! Lewis and I cleaned our room...so much dust, and then we moved back upstairs! Awesome! Also the vanity and countertop were installed in our ensuite. It is looking amazing! Now we are waiting for  the glass for around the shower and the Quartz pieces for around the tub and on the shower seat.

Isn't this weather wild?! Luckily I have been able to stay in this week but I have appointments Friday and Saturday so I will have to round up my winter gear...coat, boots, gloves, scarf, etc!

I hope to be back with the photos of more gift card holders by Sunday. (I have been working on a 15" tall tower of drawers for a donation for a cancer fundraiser this Sunday, but forgot to take a photo of it. Also a kit of star boxes for them, too.) I am always crafting...it keeps me sane!

Be back soon...maybe with some before and after photos, too!

Second post today!

I am blogging on my iPad and it has some limitations!

Here is the second gift card holder. This is made as a tag or could be hung on a Christmas tree!

This looks a little odd because I had to take the photo with the tag on its side!

This is the inside of the tag!

I will be back soon with more holders! (Probably will be a couple of days as there is a lot going on here over the next couple of days! We have to empty our bedroom tomorrow for our painting to take place! Lots of work!)

Gift Card Holders

I have 2 gift card holders to share with you today. These will be available in my classes on November 27th and 28th. (Sorry can't do that Sunday afternoon as my sisters and I and our families are getting together for our annual Christmas gathering that day! I can offer it the following Sunday, Dec. 7th if anyone is interested!)

Our renovations are moving ahead but it will probably be mid December before everything is completed. That's fine because everything is coming together so perfectly. I love it so far!

I'm healing from my fall last Saturday but am staying home for a few more days to rest and heal. I did scrape one of my knees but my pants were fine! I was so glad as the pants are one of my favourites!

On to the photos... (See next post for the other gift card holder!!!)

First one is a cute Santa that I will provide an envelope for...

Gift Card Holders Coming Soon!

Sorry I don't have a gift card holder to show you this weekend. I tripped and fell yesterday...I am okay but I hit the top of my head on a concrete step. I'm very lucky as everything is fine but I am very sore today and have a headache!

I'm just going to rest for a day or two and then I will post the beginning of at least 5 styles of Gift Card Holders! Didn't want you to think I was ignoring my blog!

Be back soon,
Chris

Stars, stars, and more stars!!!

Everything is going well here...how about for you? I found out Saturday that I had to pick paint colours for 2 bathrooms and the room for my grandkids, and get it yesterday as the painters are here today! Thank goodness that I have years of colour choosing from sewing and decorative painting! I chose the colours on Sunday after Lewis went to a paint store and borrowed a paint fan of hundreds of colours. He took that back on Monday and got the paints. Guess what? They all look amazing on the walls! Yeah, me!

I am wondering if there is anyone interested in making the Stars kit in the Holiday supplement catalogue. There are 5 stars each of 5 sizes plus one really large star. The kit is $31.95 so including all adhesives, I could offer this class for $40 per person. Click on the link below to view the catalogue containing this kit.

Right now I have them displayed on my dining room buffet but they can be made into tree ornaments, gift boxes, whatever you want. The only issue for using them as a gift box is that they are made closed and can't be opened without destroying the box. Still fun for the gift recipient!

Also included are all the decorations for the boxes and I had lots of extra pieces leftover. These can be used on cards, put in clear ornament balls, or just around your home to make it festive!

I will send out an email soon to see if anyone is interested. I had a lot of fun putting it together!

The colours look faded but they are much brighter in real life. The sun was shining when I took the photo!

Halloween Wreath

Okay, so life is crazy here! Our bathroom renovations have started and are really moving along. Our downstairs 3 pce bath is gutted, new shower is ready to be tiled, and an electrician has moved and added new wiring...we are going from one sink to two. Tonight the 2 piece powder room on the main floor was gutted! So far nothing has been in my way but when the guys get to the Ensuite, I will have to find another place to rest!

I want to thank Carol, Marg, and JoAnn for a fun class tonight! They made the Christmas cards that I posted here. Lots of laughs!

Here is the Stampin' Up! Halloween wreath that I made. It is so cute on the front door!

Sort of hard to see the black fluff wrapped around the wreath as we have a black door! Check out the beaded spiders! They look cute here but even better in person!

Another Card for Classes

Hey! I tried to get this posted yesterday but the day just got away from me! I do have my Halloween wreath finally finished. Not that it took too long, I didn't get back to doing it. I will take a photo later and post it here tomorrow.

Today I have this pretty card for you....

Hope you like this one...I do!!!

Be back tomorrow,

Next Christmas Card

Hi! Sorry I have been MIA for a few days...the change in weather back to warm, humid conditions has made my breathing difficult for the past few days. Things seem to be levelling out and I feel a bit better today. Thank God! I hate when I struggle to breathe...it stops me in my tracks! So glad I postponed classes until next week! I know I will be good by then!

Okay so here is the next card with its inside!

Be back tomorrow if everything goes according to my plans!

Here is the first of the Christmas cards I have prepared for next week's classes. It is called a "Waterfall" card and it is so fun to see in person. I haven't finished the inside but it is a full card. Everyone will make 2 of this card!

I'm Back!

It feels great to be back in a good place to be blogging again. As you can see from my previous posts, it has been awhile!

Hope you are all doing well and still crafting. I have never stopped crafting or making lots of cards. I have made lots of cards over the past 1 1/2 years for Ronald McDonald House. It is my way of volunteering at my own pace...I can even do it in my jammies! I am thinking about making treat boxes for RMH this year instead of Halloween cards. Not too many people send Halloween cards! Do you?

I am also now able to hold classes again now that we live in our street level condo. Parking is no longer an issue and I am having lots of fun crafting and meeting new women who share my love of making cards.

We will be making Christmas cards at next week's classes on Thursday, Oct 16 at 6:30 pm or Friday, October 17 at 2:00 pm. Let me know if you want to attend either class! I need to know in advance because I can only accommodate 6 people per class.

I will post the cards for the Christmas classes as soon as I have my samples finished. For today, I am sharing one of those cards we all need from time to time, a Sympathy card.

Chrissie
